Subject [all] maven regenerate site - changelog not working
Date Thu, 27 May 2004 06:58:54 GMT
I still have problems to regenerate the the changelog using
maven-1.0-rc3 (cvslib-3.6) on windows-xp.

This is what I get:

   [echo] Generating the Change Log...
   [echo] Generating the changelog report
*org.netbeans.lib.cvsclient.command.CommandException *
ChangeLog found: 0 entries

This is not much, but i think i tracked down the problem anyway:

Using the command-line version of cvslib directly shows the following
exception (this is the above CommandException !!!)
D:\USERS\im\projects\jakarta-commons-sandbox\vfs>java -jar cvslib.jar -d log

RCS file: /home/cvspublic/jakarta-commons-sandbox/vfs/.cvsignore,v
Working file: .cvsignore
*Error: org.netbeans.lib.cvsclient.command.CommandException
*        at

The problem is, that the apache cvs-server do not send the starting sequence
*"cvs server: Examining ."
*cvslib uses this output to construct a path to search the file on the
local system.*

*So cvslib tries to lookup the file by its name in an array, but fails
as this array is null - if the server send the above starting sequence,
this lookup is bypassed.
As far as is understand, this array can only be set by code and not by
commandline nor is it generated automatically.

Notice - site generation in maven works, but the changelog is empty. Now
it tried this on 3 pc - always the same, i wonder why none of you do
have the same problem.
Last time i generated a working changelog was at 2004-05-14. IMHO there
has something changed on the server - at least i cant figure out what i
do wrong??

Any ideas??
