Not possible to extend GenericObjectPool.returnObject() without affecting addObject()

           Summary: Not possible to extend GenericObjectPool.returnObject()
                    without affecting addObject()
           Product: Commons
           Version: 1.1 Final
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: Pool
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: dirk.verbeeck@pandora.be

Version 1.1 of GenericObjectPool implements addObject() by creating an object
and then using the public returnObject method. This makes it very difficult to
extend GenericObjectPool.

The solution would be using a third internal private method to implement the
"add to pool" part of addObject and returnObject.
