For 1.0.x, I'm closing this as a WONTFIX because of the backwards compatibility
implementations.  Implementing this would also start blurring the line between
being a wrapper and being a logging implementation, because it would have to do
some sort of convincing simulation of enter() and exit() for underlying logging
implementations that do not support this capability natively.

Look how hard it has been to get the Log4J folks to even think about adding
trace level support (which c-l currently has to simulate) :-).
