It seems to work for me. Classes marked @deprecated show up in the Javadoc
as such. 

You might want to try: 

maven clean site:generate

I had a case today where I changed a package.html file and it had NO effect
on the generated Javadoc from a "maven site:generate". The OLD html file
kept on being used. Very odd.
