So what's our 2.0 state with regard to this? What needs to be changed?

Do we want to release tight with the following removed from current HEAD:

isEmptyOrNull
isNotEmptyOrNull
isEmptyTrimmed
isNotEmptyTrimmed
isEmptyTrimmedOrNull
isNotEmptyTrimmedOrNull
