This is an eternal conflict of good vs. evil, code reuse + greater complexity
vs. code duplication + somewhat lesser complexity. And there will never be a
clear winner, I am afraid. Yet, I agree, a common strategy seems necessary.
I apologize for asking twice: Is there still anything that remains to be done on
my part in order to get the patch approved? What is the next step in the process?
