Tomcat5 server hangs when trying to get the database connection

------- Additional Comments From charlotte.millard@baesystems.com 2003-05-14 07:35 -------
I am also experiencing this problem.
I am using Tomcat 4.1.24 on Windows 2000 server, connecting to a MS SQL Server
2000 database. (I've also used Tomcat 4.1.18 with the same problem.)
I do not have this problem when using the Tomcat in Sun's JWSDP.

Most of the time it works - I get the connection immediately. The problem
occurs when I try to get a second connection while the first one is open.
In SQL Server, while tomcat is hanging, I can see that the second (new)
connection/process is being blocked by the first. If I kill the first process,
Tomcat returns with a "connection reset by peer: socket write error" (as you'd
expect).
