I was unsure of the version, but it's the one in Struts 1.1rc1. 

If I specify an intRange validation and the validation fails in the dependent
"integer" validation, the resource key passed in through arg0 doesn't get used
and  you get "null is not an integer". The key DOES get used if the validation
fails in "intRange".

A workaround is to specify an arg0 to the integer validation even though I am
not referring to it directly.
