Okay, there seems to be no way to get this feature implemented. I thought it 
would be a useful feature and more consitent with get/setNestedProperty() 
methods, because they return/modify the object - it was my first natural 
intension as an user of the PropertyUtils. That there are differences for each 
element should be well documented. As a developer I can understand your point 
of view. Anyway, the behaviour for nested properties should be a bit more 
documented in the PropertyUtils class, so that other users don't need to use 
try/catch programming or source code inspection.

I will implement my extension of PropertyUtils not to have the workarround 
everywhere in the sources. Thank you very much for your support, understanding 
and patience.
