PropertyUtils already offers exactly the method you are looking for --
clearDescriptors() clears out the internal static caches, as well as calling
Introspector.flushCaches().  Of course, clearing the cache will clear them for
ALL webapps if you load commons-beanutils from a shared parent class loader.

I would be interested in the code you used to make things like PropertyUtils
work when loaded from a shared parent class loader.  Please submit a separate
enhancement request to Bugzilla for that, and then add your proposed patch
(generated via "diff -u") as an attachment to that report.
