GenericObjectPool: Negative _maxActive doesn't allow growth

------- Additional Comments From johnrayburn@hotmail.com  2002-10-15 14:53 -------
To reproduce (using DBCP):
        // Load driver class
        Class.forName("your.jdbc.driver.here");

        // Create DriverManager based pool
        GenericObjectPool connectionPool = new GenericObjectPool(null);
        connectionPool.setTestOnBorrow(true);

        // For now, no max active pool amount
        connectionPool.setMaxActive(-1);

        DriverManagerConnectionFactory connectionFactory = new
DriverManagerConnectionFactory("db.url","user","pass");
        PoolableConnectionFactory poolableConnectionFactory = new
PoolableConnectionFactory
(connectionFactory,connectionPool,null,null,false,true);

        ds = new PoolingDataSource(connectionPool);

        ds.getConnection(); // BLOCKS
