I checked the Javadoc and "Date represents a specific instant in time, with
millisecond precision", and a "Calendar is in charge of converting between a
Date and integers like YEAR, MONTH, DAY," etc...   Then the docs add,
"subclasses of Calendar interpret a Date according to the rules of a
specific calendaring system."
