Please add setSocketTimeout() in HttpClient class

           Summary: Please add setSocketTimeout() in HttpClient class
           Product: Commons
           Version: 2.0 Alpha 1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: HttpClient
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: chienchi@deepspot.com

Please add a setSocketTimeout() in HttpClient class
Although it is available in HttpConnection class, I don't want to
employ HttpConnection to write the program.
Beause if so, I've to deal with many low level tasks of HTTP protocol.
If I employ HttpClient class, my code will be as simple as the following:

HttpClient hc=new HttpClient();
hc.setSocketTimeout(3000);
hc.startSession("www.google.com", 80);
GetMethod get=new GetMethod("/");
hc.executeMethod(get);
hc.endSession();

thanks
