Hmm, your use case looks very much like the JUnit test named
testPopulateMapped() (in
src/test/org/apache/commons/beanutils/DynaBeanUtilsTestCase), which passes for
me.  The only difference I can see is that my DynaProperty type is Map.class
instead of HashMap.class.  Could you try that?

Note that the JUnit test cases do not register any custom converters.

Tested against nightly build 20020718.
