Maybe I have interpreted the document incorrectly.  What I
understood from the doc was that the special option "--" is
a GNU extension.  I can't find a link to the POSIX docs on
command line handling to confirm/deny this.

My statement has no effect on the implementation of CLI as
that behaves as Bob stated.  I was just wondering if the
"--" is a GNU extension to POSIX or not?
