Absolutely!  The match there seems to be perfect.  

The only suggestion I would make is - hide the language name in the
expression:

   Query q = persistenceManager.getQuery(MyClass.class,
     "javascript:someObjects.myProperty < $varName" );

This will only simplify your implementation.
