Oops, I sent that email before it was ready.  What I meant was:

Jeff, Rodney, Doug, and any other active Latka committers,

Do we agree that we prefer the underscore convention for class variables?
If so, perhaps we should update our documentation to indicate this
divergence from the Sun recommendation.
