the reason why I ask was to build a version for apache I would do the
following:

CFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch i386 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk" \

then:

./configure \ --prefix=/opt/apache2 \ --enable-mods-shared=all \
--enable-proxy-balancer \ --enable-proxy-ajp \ --enable-proxy-http \
--enable-proxy-ftp \ --enable-proxy-connect \ --enable-proxy \ --enable-ssl
\ --enable-so

It's the CFLAGS section I was refering to of the build!!....but you were
just playing with me right! ;-)
