If it's from flow, you can use pass the dom element to a jx-template 
generator like this:

In flow:
cocoon.sendPage("pipelineWithJX", {"domElement" : domElement})

In jx:

<jx:template 
xmlns:jx="http://apache.org/cocoon/templates/jx/1.0">#{domElement}</jx:template>
