to the point of being cryptic.... ;-)

You could try the XSLT document() function 

e.g. <xsl:apply-templates
select="document('/projects/www/templates/sites/home/slots/stockpda.html')"/>

(Note: this use is discouraged in Cocoon; there are
lots of past threads discussing why and what the 
alternatves are...)
