Just curious - did you use:

<map:match pattern="test/**">
  <map:mount check-reload="yes"
src="resource://my/package/name/sitemap.xmap" uri-prefix="test"/>
</map:match>

or

<map:match pattern="test/**">
  <map:mount check-reload="yes" src="resource://my/package/name"
uri-prefix="test"/>
</map:match>
