I often used it myself, so I don't think that the above is true:

<map:generator type="directory" src="myDirectory"/>
<map:transform src="directory2xinclude.xsl"/>
<map:transform type="xinclude"/>
<map:transform src="myxml2html.xsl"/>
<map:serialize type="html"/>
