Subject Re: cocoon protocol not available

You're right, my mistake, I tried a redirect-to with cocoon:/ in my release
2.1.4 and it does exactly what you say.

<map:match pattern="apage.html">
    <map:redirect-to uri="cocoon:/theotherpage.html"/>
</map:match>

leaves the uri "apage.html" with contents of "theotherpage.html". Doesn't a
simple redirect like this work?
But this doesn't really help you, because of you're different release
version of course..

I do notice a configuration in WEB-INF/cocoon.xconf :

<component-instance
class="org.apache.cocoon.components.source.impl.SitemapSourceFactory"
name="cocoon"/>

There seem to be configurations for each protocol (although I'm not sure),
so maybe you're configuration isn't correct.
