I have

Original Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
	at com.caucho.jsp.BufferedJspWriter.flushBuffer(
	at com.caucho.jsp.BufferedJspWriter.privateClose(
	at com.caucho.jsp.PageContextImpl.release(
	at com.caucho.jsp.QJspFactory.freePageContext(
	at _samples._jsp._welcome__jsp._jspService(
	at com.caucho.jsp.JavaPage.service(
	at com.caucho.jsp.QServlet.service(
	at org.apache.cocoon.generation.JspGenerator.generate(

with Resin 3.0.4, so I can confirm it. But I don't know the reason.

Same here. It's ok.

No, I don't think so. I don't remember the old effect when not having the
patch provided at that bug, but with the recent code (no changes from 2.1.2
to 2.1.3, so no need to test it for you) the Caucho JSP stuff is starting.
"Only" a NPE is thrown - why ever.
