This solved the problem I was wrestling with for days within 2 minutes.

About the RDF and/or XML issue: my news feed starts with
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>,
so I hope they deliver XML (and from what I can see now, they actually do).

A remark about the context of this issue: I am trying to create a portlet
(see blocks->portal framework) that displays the contents of an RDF feed (in
this case from I thought some of you would be more interested
in IT issues than in banking issues. The Heise feed is working now OK as a

I hope you know that RDF is not XML. But anyway, if you want to prevent
this behaviour, remove the following line from the xmlizer element within

<parser mime-type="text/plain"
