Except that the input document is semi-structured; i.e., it is not wholly
consistent in its use of delimiters and containment.  Plus, I already have a
parser; call me lazy, but I don't want to write a new one.

I might be able to rewrite it in Jython pretty easily.   That aside, I
expected Cocoon to support the spawning of processes which return XML
through a pipe or socket.  I'm not a web developer, so maybe that's a naive
expectation.
