id is an optinal attribute for the xslt, which I don't think is actually
used.
You can remove it.

Subject: RE: XMLForm tags

Well, I have one doubt about this:

      <xf:selectOne ref="os" selectUIType="radio">
        <xf:caption>OS</xf:caption>
        <xf:item id="unix">
          <xf:caption>Unix/Linux</xf:caption>
          <xf:value>Unix</xf:value>
        </xf:item>
        <xf:item id="mac">
          <xf:caption>Mac OS/X</xf:caption>
          <xf:value>Mac OS/X</xf:value>
        </xf:item>
        <xf:item id="win">
          <xf:caption>Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP</xf:caption>
          <xf:value>Windows</xf:value>
        </xf:item>
        <xf:item id="other">
          <xf:caption>Other</xf:caption>
          <xf:value>Other</xf:value>
        </xf:item>
      </xf:selectOne>

Why do I have to specify twice the same value, as an id and as a value, i.e.
id="unix" and <xf:value>unix</xf:value>?

Maybe is just for having an id value for Javascript reference?

Brief  XMLForm Tag Ref.

OK this is most of what I can find, if anyone can add. I'll try to
refine this a little later on.

#Doc root:
        <document xmlns:xf="http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/xmlform/2002">

#Form element:
        <xf:form id="form-feedback" view="system" action="wizard"
method="GET"> <!-- form item(s) here --></xf:form>

#Caption element:
        Caption element can be the child of any form or form element.
        <xf:caption>System Information</xf:caption>

#Help element:
        <xf:help>Select one or more</xf:help>

#Violation element:
        Can be the child of any form element that requires validation.
        <xf:violations class="error"/>

#Value element:
        Can be the child or of any form element.
        <xf:value>Geek</xf:value>

#Hidden element:
         <xf:hidden ref="hidden"><!-- value here --></xf:hidden>

#Itemset element:
        Child of <xf:selectMany/>.
         <xf:itemset nodeset="allHobbies">

#Text box element:
         <xf:textbox ref="/firstName"> <!-- values and captions here -->
</xf:textbox>

#Multiple select:

        <xf:selectMany ref="/role" selectUIType="listbox"><!-- list values
and
captions here --></xf:selectMany>

#Check box element
        <xf:selectMany ref="/hobby" selectUIType="checkbox"> <!-- list
values,
itemset and captions here --> </xf:selectMany>

#Submit element:
          <xf:submit id="next" class="button"><!-- caption, hint here -->
</xf:submit>

#Radio buttons, Select lists
        Child of form

        <xf:selectOne ref="os" > <!-- list values and captions here -->
</xf:selectOne>

        For a select list it seems that the selectUIType=""is left out.
So...

        <xf:selectOne ref="os" selectUIType="radio"> <!-- list values and
captions here --> </xf:selectOne>
