Your question is general, I don' know if I understand it well.
However, in the past weeks I had the same problem.
Here I post you the solution I found, with the great help of this community.
Hope this help for your problem to.

I wanted to write a matcher for an URI of this type:

The matcher is:
<map:match pattern="*.jsp">
  <map:act type="request">
     <map:parameter name="parameters" value="true" />
     <map:generate type="file"
     <map:transform src="stylesheets/{../1}.xsl"/>
     <map:serialize type="xhtml"/>

Note: the jsp that generates xml data is included with type="file" and not
as type="jsp"
