Is there a console where I can execute queries?

It is started automatically when Cocoon is loaded.
Usually, you can see a message like:
"Server started. Press Ctrl+C to shutdown" in console window - it is the
HSQLDB message.

If don't get a similar message then check logs to see what's wrong.
