That would be simple session validator action.

Check following fragments from Cocoon's sitemap:

   <map:action name="session-isvalid" src="org.apache.cocoon.acting.SessionIsValidAction"/>

....

  <map:match pattern="session-state/example">
      <map:act type="session-isvalid">
