As far as Cocoon2 is concerned you can use <map:read src="blah.htm"
mime="test/html">, you can use same for other static files also as long
as you state proper mime type.

As an example you can check the syntax in main sitemap.xmap.

  how do I server static content like images and html files with cocoon?

stuff is not generating any xml?! So how can it be integrated in the
sitemap?
