Hello,

You will need to use the <xsp:attribute> and <esql:get-string> constructs. 
Your code should then look something like (as far as I can recall):

<esql:row-results>
 <standard>
  <xsp:attribute name="standardID">
   <esql:get-string column="standardID"/>
  </xsp:attribute>
 </standard>
</esql:row-results>
