If you need only a running version of Cocoon 2 then everything is simple:
1. Download Tomcat 4.0b5 (or higher) from Tomcat
binaries section.
2. Unpack it, set your CATALINA_HOME environment variable to point to the
Tomcat directory.
(Run bin/startup.bat to check that it works, goto to the

3. Get the latest Cocoon from the CVS (instructions are somewhere at

5. Copy build/webapp/cocoon.war to your %CATALINA_HOME%/webapps directory.
6. Restart Tomcat.
7. Try http://localhost:8080/cocoon
