you should try putting
<esql:query>SELECT CategoryName FROM Categories ORDER BY=
 CategoryID;</esql:query>
instead of
<query>SELECT CategoryName FROM Categories ORDER BY CategoryID</query>
(i think the semicolon is required ??)
