Subject Starting with wml...

Okay, I'm used to XML, HTML, and similar technologies but I'm still getting
used to WML.

I have a card set up as follows:
17|	<card id="LoginCard" newcontext="true">
18| <do type="accept" label="Login">
19| <go
href="wap_login.jsp?username=$username&amp;passwd=$passwd"/>
20| </do>
21| <p align="center">
22| <b>Please enter Username and Password:</b><br/>
23| </p>
24|
25| <p align="left">
26| <b>User name:</b><br/>
27| <input name="username" type="text" format="10m" />
28| <br/><b>Password:</b><br/>
29| <input name="passwd" type="password" format="10m" />
30| </p>
31|	</card>

When I run this through the nokia WAP toolkit 1.2 I get the error:
WMLCompilerException converting to WML binary: Error: Element starting at
Line 19 - Invalid variable syntax username&passwd=$passwd

Is this just the emulator or my code? How do I set the syntax for a href in
"<go../>"?

Cheers,
