of your situations, but that's not the way RequestDispatcher objects work.  If XSP requires
that a session be created  then that is a big fat bug.   RequestDispatcher's are created by
calling HttpServletRequest.getRequestDispatcher() or ServletContext.getRequestDispatcher()
and there is no dependency on HttpSession objects.  Creating a session shouldn't have any
bearing on either of your code. 

Robin (or anyone else) do you have any idea what they're talking about?
