The way I do this is to process the xsp document then process the results as a
jsp or vice versa.

This is easy to accomplish using the RequestDispatcher in JSP. Or behind the
scenes by simple opening a Url Connection to the document.

like:

page.xml --> page.jsp --> result
page.jsp --> page.xml --> result
