Subject Re: phone.com cache problem
Date Fri, 29 Sep 2000 17:09:08 GMT
Hi,

	In phone.com's documentation, they mentioned about cache-op
to be sent along with the digest to instruct the device to clear
cache of certain page. It works. But it is a raletively incovenient
scheme (You can clear any cache URL except the current deck) and
it doesn't work with cocoon (I haven't found a way, maybe Prism
will do).

	Basically, the reply will looks like:

Content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary=_abcd_

--_abcd_
Content-type: application/x-up-cacheop

OpCode=InvalidateURL&Operand=test.xml

--_abcd_
Content-type: text/vnd.wap.wml

<wml>
....
</wml>
--_abcd_--

	You may want to check phone.com's Developer's Guide for
more detail.

	Xerces (or Xalan or Cocoon) sorts the attributes also
cuases problem in some other tags in WML.

	Another thing you may want to consider is that there
are many level of cache between client and server. Device itself,
WAP gateway, proxy server, cocoon. You may need combination of
cache control (in HTTP header, WML meta tag forua, and cacheop)
to ensure no cache.

Hope this helps.
