Subject New way to write XML to a file in Cocoon - it's so easy!
Date Thu, 17 Aug 2000 18:23:19 GMT
For anyone that has a need to write XML to a file instead of outputting it
to a browser, I've just discovered this very simple method, which can be
used in a stylesheet:

<xalan:write file="test.xml">
  <!-- insert content to be written here -->
  <xsl:fallback>
    Hello - Cocoon is not using Xalan, so file test.xml could not be saved
  </xsl:fallback>
</xalan:write>

Similar extension elements exist for XT and Saxon, two other open source
alternatives to Xalan (which is Cocoon's default stylesheet processor).

Enjoy! :-)
