Yep, jikes works with ant!  You just need to specify the compiler
to use in the build.xml file.  Instead of using "classic" in the
build.xml use "jikes", and you will notice a 10-fold speed up.

No JVM I know of automatically uses jikes, but jikes works with
every JVM I have used.
