Subject RE: Getting URL parameter values
Date Fri, 09 Jun 2000 17:48:34 GMT
Something like this should work ....

<xsp:page>
  <xsp:logic>
    String idValue = request.getParameter("id");
  </xsp:logic>
  <field>
    <xsp:attribute name="value">
      <xsp:expr>idValue</xsp:expr>
    </xsp:attribute>
  </field>
</xsp:page>

Kevin Albert

Subject: RE: Getting URL parameter values

Another quick question. I want to write an XML file
with something like (this one is obviously wrong):

  <field
    name="id"
    picture="9"
    length="10"
    prompt="Enter your ID"
    value=request.getParameter("id")
   />

so that if the URL was called as .../page.xml?id=66,
the first processing of the page would give

  <field
    name="id"
    picture="9"
    length="10"
    prompt="Enter your ID"
    value="66"
   />

(with quotes included). How is this done? I have tried
several variations of <xsp:expr>, <xsp:attribute>, etc.
without getting it right.

Thanks,
