Its not something really amenable to a tutorial or recipe approach, except in
the simplest cases.  It is more a way of thinking about information, even how
someone might think about thinking about your information.  Compare TEI in its
XML clothes with the XBRL specification for two wildly divergent views and an
idea of the range of choices to be made.
