Subject Problems with Cocoon 1.7.2 and XSP
Date Thu, 27 Apr 2000 14:34:19 GMT
I have the following setup:
RedHat Linux 6.1
Apache 1.3.9
Apache JServ 1.1
Sun JDK 1.2.2
Cocoon 1.7.2

The basic functionality works OK, but when I try to execute an XSP page
(the included sample), I get 500 Internal Server Error.

Apache access_log says: - - [27/Apr/2000:14:39:39 +0200] "GET /xmlsamp/xsp/page.xml?messag
e=Hello%20World! HTTP/1.0" 500 522

Apache error_log says:
[Thu Apr 27 14:39:00 2000] [warn] [client] handler "cocoon"
not found for: /usr/local/cocoon/samples/xsp/page.xml
[Thu Apr 27 14:39:39 2000] [error] [client] Premature end of
script headers: /servlet/org.apache.cocoon.Cocoon

JServ mod_jserv.log says:
[27/04/2000 14:39:39:494] (EMERGENCY) ajp12[1]: cannot scan servlet headers
[27/04/2000 14:39:39:494] (ERROR) an error returned handling request via
protocol "ajpv12"
[27/04/2000 14:39:40:494] (EMERGENCY) ajp12: auth did not receive challenge
[27/04/2000 14:39:40:494] (EMERGENCY) ajp12: function auth fail

JServ jserv.log says nothing about this.

I have included tools.jar in wrapper.classpath in,
before I did that, I got an error message about the class not found.

When I look in the repository, I can see a file, but no
_page.class. I tried to manualy compile the file using
javac, and then it works (for that particular XSP page).

An another machine, I have a similar setup, but use JDK 1.1 instead of
JDK 1.2. On that machine, it works fine.

So it seems like Cocoon has some problems with invoking javac when
using JDK 1.2.
