When I built apache with --enable-shared-core and -enable-shared (sp??)
my build failed.

When I built apache with only --enable-shared (no shared core) I was able to
build
mod_serv as a shared library.


Please post if you get --enable-shared-core.

PS.
I am typing from home, so I don't have the exact command to enable shared
modules (--enable-shared?)
