- XLS is the binary format used by Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.  XLS can be produced by Cocoon,
using a component called [POI|http://jakarta.apache.org/poi], itself an Apache project.  For
an example how to integrate this with Cocoon, see [XLSSerializer].
