Is there a way to create a stack trace and insert it into the logs? I could do
something like

try
  {
    throw new MyExcpetion();
  }
catch (MyException myExcpetion)
  {
    this.getLogger.debug( /* get stack trace from myException */ );
  }

in the setup() method. Would that work?
