I am with you, I really prefer to use jakarta commons-code than maintain own
code inside Cocoon.

Can you kindly post on the dev@ list about that and see what the other people
said about that? I am willing to include the PATCH, but I want to see what the
others say about.

I prefer to switch to commons in 2.1.6 and deprecate the classes. The classes
will be removed in 2.2.

Please post about that on the dev@ list. :-)
