   "Clean out" here writes stuff out into the persistent store,
   if stuff is Serializable.
Transient store:
   "Clean out" here removes stuff completely, hence the
   name: "transient".
Persistent store:
   Janitor does not touch this store at all. No "clean out"
   happening at all.
