Morley, are you sure that it isn't your subclass that is eating the characters
events? I've committed another testcase that seems to do the right thing, as
long as you don't forget to iterate all the text nodes that are children of an
element, since there will be as many as the times "characters" is called.

Can we have a look at your transformer?
