In my opinion, when you go from one major release to the next you are free
to completely rewrite the product if you choose. However, providing backward
compatibility is always beneficial to your client base.  Look at how long MS
supported old DOS programs in Windows.  At some point it isn't cost
effective, but you do it as long as you can to keep your clients happy.

Same here. A question (just trying to understand): that means we can also
drop the support for old avalon components in 3.0. Is this correct?
